Why annual maintenance makes a difference
A well-made installation isn't just about the day it's commissioned. Over time, dust, sea salt, wind and daily use leave their mark on any equipment. That's why we recommend at least an annual maintenance service for your installation. It's not a complicated task, but an organised check-up that confirms everything is still working as it should and catches small details before they turn into breakdowns.
Mallorca has very different conditions: homes by the sea, country houses, second residences that stay closed for months, and businesses with intense seasonal use. In all cases, a regular check-up brings peace of mind and helps protect your investment.
What is checked in a photovoltaic installation
The image of a curved tile roof with panels on an inclined structure, with the pool and sea in the background, sums up the type of residential installation we often see on the island. In an annual PV check, we typically inspect:
- The condition of the panels: dirt, new shading, possible damage to the frame or glass.
- The structure and fixings, especially on roofs exposed to wind.
- The wiring and connections, looking for oxidation or loose points.
- The inverter and operating parameters, to verify that production is consistent.
- Cleaning when necessary, without aggressive treatments.
Timely cleaning and a check-up help the system continue to perform steadily and ensure any issue is detected before it affects the whole.
Air conditioning, aerothermal, pool heat pump and underfloor heating
Maintenance isn't limited to solar panels. A home often has several systems that also need attention. For air conditioning, the annual check includes cleaning filters, checking circuits and monitoring the general operation of the unit. For aerothermal and heat pumps, it's advisable to check the circuit status, pressure, heat exchangers and safety elements, and to verify that performance remains as expected.
The pool heat pump deserves a special mention: it works with water in a demanding environment, so checking its operation, cleaning exchangers and inspecting connections helps avoid downtime during the swimming season.
And let's not forget underfloor heating. It's a comfortable and efficient system, but it also requires annual maintenance: checking circuit pressure, bleeding air, reviewing flow distribution by zone and verifying that temperature responds correctly. A well-maintained underfloor heating system heats evenly and avoids surprises at the start of the cold season.
What a maintenance contract offers
A maintenance contract organises all these checks and ensures none are forgotten. Instead of remembering each piece of equipment separately, the owner has a plan that includes scheduled visits and tasks. The clearest advantages are:
- Regular, documented checks of each system.
- Early detection of wear or faults that become more costly over time.
- Greater reliability during peak use, such as summer or winter.
- A clear point of contact for questions about the installation's status.
It's not about promising specific results, but about working methodically: checking, verifying and recording what has been done and what should be monitored.
How to organise maintenance for your home or business
If you have several pieces of equipment, the most practical approach is to group them into a single annual plan. We can check the PV, air conditioning, aerothermal, pool heat pump and underfloor heating in coordinated visits, adapted to the actual use of the home or business. In a second residence, for example, it makes sense to schedule the check before the season of use; in a business, it's best to do it outside peak hours.
If you don't remember when your installation was last checked, or if you've just acquired a home with equipment already installed, a technical visit allows us to assess the starting condition and propose an annual maintenance plan tailored to what you really need.
If you'd like us to review your installation and propose an annual maintenance contract, you can request a quote or a technical visit through our website.
